"Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix has got to be my favourite of the series so far (alongside book 3). I was gripped the whole way through and just savoured every word. Another rollercoaster ride!
There I was thinking there would be ‘more of the same’ but I was surely wrong. The plot got better and better – more twists and turns of course – and some unexpected new tidbits of information too.
Even more interesting characters are introduced in the 5th book of the Harry Potter series, the most annoying of whom has got to be Dolores Umbridge. I still shudder at the thought of what she makes Harry do at one particular point in the book. Nasty woman!
All in all, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix is very much recommended. As always, Stephen Fry (UK version) does a blinding job at bringing J K Rowling's plot and characters to life. Gripping as always, but particularly sad at the end."

"I think that this book is the best written of the series. What I loved most about it was the development of Harry through this book. I think this book was very much a character development novel. I’ve loved many fictional characters over the years, but none quite as much as Harry.
(...) Stephen Fry captures Harry’s moods brilliantly. The scene in Dumbledore’s office is powerful as much for Stephen Fry’s incredibly moving performance as for JK Rowling’s beautiful and sensitive prose. I really was moved to tears, and my heart ached for Harry."

"Harry turns dirty in Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix.
He's angry, he's arrogant and he's up for a fight - and that's just the first page...
Harry Potter 5 has a far more adult tone than the previous books, with our hero wizard portrayed as an angst-ridden teen with a boulder - rather than a chip - on his shoulder. But that's no bad thing...
JK Rowling was adament that she wouldn't fall into the "Enid Blyton trap," where the adventurous young stars never grew up, suffered spots, or indeed revealed they had any hormones at all. And she hasn't. Harry is as full of hormones as any normal teenaged boy, and of course he has a bit more on his plate than the average lad (...)"
