"What an amazing feast for the imagination the Harry Potter books are. If you think these books are just for kids then you’re missing out! Adults and children alike are spell bound by Harry and his adventures – myself included.

I’m not going to tell you about the plot or the characters – chances are you’ve seen the film anyway, but if you haven’t then it’s best that you discover them on your own when you’re reading the books. And they truly are magical and engrossing.

The author’s great story-telling skills really transport you into her weird and wonderful world of spells, wizards, and witches.

I’m not much for reading fiction books – but this has got to be my favourite series of all time…

And what a fantastic adventure you have in store for you if you’ve never read the books!

Stephen Fry narrates the audio book (UK version) and really brings J K Rowling's imaginative story telling to life. Definitely book Harry Potter in for a read and savour each page with delight! I know I did!"

"I was a tad late catching Harry Potter fever, coming in about the time the first movie was released on DVD, but I'm now a quite devoted fan of J. K. Rowling and the magical stories she has given to us all, dazzling young and old alike in a manner quite unheard of before.

Actually, I don't think I would have recognized Harry Potter And Philospher's Stone (Sorceror's Stone) as a children's book had I picked it up with no previous knowledge whatsoever about the phenomenon.

It's a rip-roaring good story filled with amazingly lifelike characters set in a truly captivating setting.

If you enjoyed the movie but haven't actually read the original novel, you really owe it to yourself to pick up the book. The movie is amazingly faithful to Rowling's novel, with only a few rather minor changes, yet the book offers so much more to the Harry Potter story."

"If you've heard all the hype but are a bit apprehensive about picking up the book - don't be.

In Harry Potter And Philospher's Stone (Sorceror's Stone) JK Rowling has created a hero for everyone. In interviews she has always said that she didn't write the Harry Potter series specifically for children, publishers just defined it as a children's book.

All three of the so-far published books are ideal for readers of all ages, anyone who has ever been a child, and still is deep, deep down will identify with Harry Potter, and unlike a lot of books found in the children's department adults won't find the language style slow or patronising.

I'm in my early 20s and was recommended the books by a friend in her early 50s. I've read each of the books at least three times and I've never got bored of them - the only disappointment is that the author has already decided to limit the series to seven, there will be a lot of tears when Harry Potter finally graduates Hogwarts, but a lot of fun along the way.

I feel honoured that after years of reading 'classics' published way before my time I'm alive as a series of brand new, fantastic books are appearing each year. Long live Harry Potter!"
