Who Does It Affect?

Please note: Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are believed to fall under the umbrella term 'ME/CFS'. Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome, M.E., and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome affects people of all ages, creeds and colours, both male and female. Although it is said that ME/CFS affects mostly caucasion women, this condition can actually affect anyone, at any age.

When it comes to Myalgic Encephalomyelitis:

Stress can play a major role in ME/CFS. So, not surprisingly, ME/CFS is prominent in industrialised countries and affects many people who work long hours or are in fast-paced jobs.

And in 1997, a survey indicated that ME/CFS was the most common cause of long-term sickness absence from school in the United Kingdom.
