Dealing with Fibromyalgia & Cronic Fatigue by: Leslie Ann
Hi, I was diagnosed about 4 or 5 years ago, but before they figured it out, I was & still am on anti-depressants. I live in Quebec,Canada and when I told my doctor about the severe pain and sleepiness, he put me on Lyrica, 50mg. once a day in the morning.
All it did for me was make me sleep and the rest of the time I felt as if my body was slightly beside itself, kinda of hard to explain, sorry.
I went back to my doctor and told him. He took me off it and put me on Codeine Contin 50mg, 3 times a day. Luckily I don't have the side effects expected from this as it is a narcotic. I have no drowsiness. On the contrary I get hyper-active, so to off set the hyper-activity I take PMS-Clonazepam, 1mg along with the Codien Contin. Luckily I have a high tolerance and have not become addicted to this medicine.
I've been on this for a while now. I've found that some days I don't even need to take any. So for anyone else here in Quebec, taking Lyrica and finding it's not working, or hampering your lifetyle I recommend seeing your doctor and asking about Codiene Contin.
I have one question though, I've never heard of any men having Fibromyalgia, has anyone else?

Hi Judith.
That is strange - before I got my diagnosis of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I was convinced that I was bi-polar. It wasn't so much the mood swings, but the awful energy surges which were guaranteed to trigger off energy dips and crazy sleep patterns. So it would seem that bi polar symptoms can appear in some cases of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia.
