What is the Human Growth Hormones Releaser supplement 'Secretagogue One'? And does it work?

Many ME/CFS sufferers seem to have found Human Growth Hormone Releaser supplements useful. Human Growth Hormone Releaser supplements like Secretagogue One are meant to ease muscle pain and fatigue, to help sleep, and to improve brain fog/concentration.

At the time of writing this review, Secretagogue One is apparently being used by the Longevity Institute in its centers all over the world.

Secretagogue One is a Human Growth Hormone Releaser supplement (i.e. not actual growth hormones ) and it comes in the form of a powder that you dilute in water. It comes in two flavours - orange or lemon. You need to take one sachet of Secretagogue One in water before bedtime every night.

I have tried the orange flavoured Secretagogue One and was surprised that it actually tasted really nice - just like orange soda pop!

My Own Experience With Secretatogue One...

Now before I go on, let me tell you about a trial that took place in the year 2000. This trial tested ‘Somatomed’ (a Human Growth Hormone Releaser like secretagogue one) on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferers. The results of the trial were extremely positive, but nevertheless, two side effects were cited…

1. 28% of participants (CFS sufferers) experienced muscle and joint pain during the initiation of the therapy.
   
2. 31% had mild edema, which is a swelling of both legs from an accumulation of excess fluid.

Alas, I seem to be in the minority of ME/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferers who experiences bad side effects. You see, when I took Secretogogue One , I got really bad aches and pains in my legs and when my kinesiologist tested Secretagogue One on me, she said that my body wasn't reacting well to Secretogogue One at all.

Having said that, I feel I should point out that:

1. I only took it for 2-3 weeks, after which I stopped taking Secretagogue One. Since the study says that the muscle and joint pains were experienced 'during the initiation of the therapy' I don't know if the pain in my legs would have stopped over time (if I had continued taking Secretogogue One ); and
   
2. overall, the trial results of the specific Human Growth Hormones Releaser (Somatomed) study were extremely positive (more...)

So although my body didn't react well to it, it's worth remembering that everyone is different, and that I seem to be in the minority of people who experienced bad side effects.
