If you have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia then you probably have a 'sleep deficiency in restorative sleep'... ...but what does this mean? Well an exciting study led by a Professor Harvey Moldofsky in Canada, discovered something very interesting about Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia sufferers...
Remember how your brain generates alpha waves when you are alert and awake? Well, if you suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Fibromyalgia , your brain is likely to be generating alpha waves during your deep sleep... ...but deep sleep is only meant to consist of slow delta waves! So essentially, this means that your deep sleep is disturbed by alpha waves, which in turn, means that you're unlikely to achieve enough slow wave deep sleep - that all-important 'restorative sleep' - that helps you to repair and heal!
